01 The story, in three paragraphs

Why everyone keeps coming back.

Main Event Independence in Independence, MO, offers an unrivaled blend of entertainment options that promise fun for the entire family. As a dynamic hub combining a restaurant, bowling alley, children’s party service, laser tag center, and video arcade, this venue delivers a vibrant atmosphere where excitement and delicious food come together seamlessly.

Step inside and you’ll find more than just great games — the menu enchants with mouthwatering choices designed to satisfy every craving. Imagine indulging in their PASS AROUND APPETIZERS, where the Twisted Pretzels arrive brushed with savory garlic butter, accompanied by housemade ranch and creamy cheese dipping sauce that perfectly balance salty and rich flavors. Or dive into the Baked Cheesy Breadsticks, a comforting blend of five cheeses melted atop focaccia bread, served alongside marinara and ranch to create a gooey, irresistible starter. For a hearty snack to share, the Loaded Fries smothered with applewood-smoked bacon, green onions, and cheddar jack cheese offer a gratifying crunch that keeps you coming back for more.

Their GAME CHANGING PIZZA menu features crowd-pleasers like The Perfect Cheese, a hand-tossed pizza layered with a luscious five-cheese blend and a whisper of garlic butter that creates a delightfully rich bite every time. For those looking for something meatier, The Goodness Gracious combines Italian sausage, giant pepperoni, red onions, green peppers, ham, and mushrooms — a symphony of flavors baked to bubbly perfection. And if you like to personalize your meal, the option to build your own pizza, choosing between hand-tossed or crispy mega pan crust, lets you craft the ideal pie for your group.

Main Event’s dining atmosphere buzzes with joyful energy—kids laughing after a strike on the lanes or cheering through laser tag, parents enjoying craft cocktails from attentive bartenders like Alyssa, whose skill and warmth have been consistently praised by guests. The experience here strikes a perfect balance: lively yet welcoming, fast-paced yet focused on service. Customers frequently highlight how staff attentiveness — from bartenders to servers — makes the visit feel comfortable even amidst the vibrant chaos of children’s parties and arcade excitement.

While some guests note that prices can run a bit high and food wait times may stretch during peak hours, the overall consensus is that Main Event Independence provides excellent value, especially on budget-friendly occasions like Monday game passes. Families can share game cards and enjoy access to a wide range of activities—bowling, laser tag, and video games—that encourage both friendly competition and unforgettable memories.

In essence, Main Event Independence isn’t just a place to eat; it’s an immersive playground for food lovers and fun seekers alike. Whether you’re celebrating a child’s birthday, stealing a night out, or just craving a lively spot to gather with friends, this destination’s flavorful menu and multi-faceted entertainment deliver a vibrant, gratifying experience you'll want to revisit.

Main event can be extremely costly if you have a family on a budget. But on Mondays they have a game pass for about 14$ a person can play games or activities. We usually get a game pass and let 2 kids share 1 card. It doesn't include any of the virtual games, and you can't redeem any tickets you earn. the food is expensive, and takes a long time to receive. The escapes room are roughly 25 for 6 people at time. Im not even sure how 6 people would fit in the small escape rooms, Half the clues inside didn't even work, and there is no prize if you win. Just the experience which is still fun, even through the things dont always work. I would have to day bowling is probably the best activity. Which is about 60 for a family of 4 including shoes.

Brought my three kiddos in for some fun. Alyssa the bartender was amazing. Even with the chaos that is my children, they never missed a beat. Perfect drinks every time and didn’t bat an eye with the weird requests they each had. Absolutely perfect.

Had a fun time here, always fun to come here with family. VERY expensive… be expecting to pay quite a bit for anything you do, eat drink whatever. We had a good and nice waitress and Andrew was a good help when we had an issue at our bowling lane. Best place to go to if you have a gift card and/or want to hang with a group of friends.
